Little things

Does God care about the little things?
Last night, as we begun our bedtime prayer, little Aurora had a prayer request. I had given each of the four girls a little glow-in-the-dark bracelet. Aurora had "lost" hers. She wanted to pray that it would be found. The Glidewells have the kid power to completely re-position every item in the home on an hourly basis, and to find little bracelet at this hour would be impossible. No, a miracle. This is a "Little Thing". So more to appease her than in sincere concern I prayed that we would find her little bracelet.
And God humbled this Dad's heart just after the Amen, I begun to close the door to the bedroom - there was the missing bracelet! Wow! I realized how real God just became to "Little Aurora", and to her, it was a "Big Thing!"

More than enough!

So last Friday we had cereal for breakfast, and there was a half a box left over. Ang, always on top of things, whispered a prayer to God, noticing the depleted cupboard, and how we would need more soon.

Sunday after Church, a man approached us and asked us if we were the family from New Tribes Mission who experienced a blessing when a lady had walked up to us at the grocery store and handed us a $50 on the spot and ran off (Click Here for Story). Yeah, we were the family. I have no idea how he knew us, or the story, but he said he had another blessing for us: a van full of food.

Oh, Wow! He had so much food that we had to put a lot of it into another family's van to help us take it back to campus! Remember the cereal problem above? Picture several CASES of cereal! We filled our pantry full, and even had a box of beef pieces to put in the freezer! Wow! We took the rest (about half of what we received) to the "Food Room" where others can take and share food. I took a picture of our huge pantry that is so full, praise the Lord! I don't remember ever having this much food on our shelf except one other time of blessing when our church back home, Alton Bible, blessed our pantries with an enormous pile.

Thank You Lord, for your your loving provisions.
